Trailer Draft

Outline
The outline for my trailer will be to make it stand out from the other films by making it as a spoof horror film. I will make sure that it is obvious to the audience that it is a spoof by adding many funny scenes. The audience will get the whole gist of the film when watching the trailer, rather than have a small clue, and not understand what is going to happen. In the feedback from my focus group, they said they would prefer the trailer to be short in length, but still long enough so they get an idea of the film, and enough to get them interested in watching the film. The trailer will feature the 3 main characters of the film, and also members of the public, so the audience can get used to the characters before they see the film.

Script
The first screen will be a black screen with white writing which says “In April 2010 three students disappeared in a remote location looking for an extraterrestrial phenomenon than turned out to be not so phenomenal. Surprise surprise.” It then disappears and more white writing appears, saying “A year later, their footage was found”. The film then cuts to one of the actors asking a member of the public “do you believe in the Spirit of March?” The civilian then replies “Hmm, I’ve been thinking about this ‘Spirit of March’ for a long time, and I’ve decided that it could well be real. I’m planning on camping out in the ‘haunted graveyard’ tonight to see if it’s real. I hope for my sake that it’s not.” The film then shows the actor asking another member of the public “what do you think about the Spirit of March?” The citizen then replies “I’ve heard about this, and I hope it’s not true. I was planning on using that graveyard, when I move from this life to the next, but there’s no chance of that happening if it’s haunted. I might try that new crematorium, up near the bypass?”
The film is now in the graveyard, with one of the girl characters saying “Here we are in this unbelievably scary graveyard, it’s sooooo terrifying!” The boy character then says “I’m not even scared, geeet up!” The other girl character then says “I wish you’d stop saying that..”
There is then various scenes with gasps and screams from each of the actors, which are used as well a variety of mid shots, close ups and birds eye shot.
The trailer then finishes with another black screen with white writing saying “The Scary Movie Project” which then disappears and is replaced with “6th May 2011”.

Shotlist
All of my filming will be done using a video camera and tripod. The majority of the shots will be mid shots, with also a few high angles used to show how small the actors are feeling compared to the "Spirit of March". I will be using these shots because I feel that they follow the conventions of a typical spoof/horror film, as a few of them use these sort of angles, and also use a handheld camera and tripod for various scenes.
